Story, not spectacle
Every frame carries a narrative. I photograph birds and wildlife not merely to capture beauty, but to reveal the ecological threads that hold an ecosystem together.
Fieldwork before the frame
Since 2009, patience in the field — observing behaviour, understanding habitat — has been the foundation. The image is the result of the relationship, never a shortcut.
Conservation as purpose
Through rescue work, workshops and education sessions across schools and institutions, photography becomes a tool for awareness and biodiversity protection.
Documentation with rigour
Observations feed research — including publications with the Bombay Natural History Society — because a photograph can also be evidence for science.

About the Photographer
Birds, behaviour& the wild
Mihirkumar Ranva is an Indian wildlife photographer, birding educator, and conservation advocate based in Junagadh. His work documents birds, wildlife behaviour, and natural ecosystems through photography and field observation.
With a deep passion for nature since childhood, he focuses on bird ecology, wildlife documentation, and conservation storytelling — images that go beyond aesthetics to highlight ecological importance and inspire awareness about biodiversity.
He has led wildlife awareness programs and photography workshops with Canon India, SBI RSETI, Podar International School and Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden, and is actively involved in wildlife and bird rescue initiatives at the grassroots level.

Milestones
Exhibition Debut
Launched first solo wildlife exhibition and gained recognition in the Open Junagadh City Photography Competition.
Youth Achievement
Secured 3rd Rank in the Saurashtra University Youth Festival and the Sakkarbaug Zoo Wildlife Week contest.
Speed Filmmaking
Competed in the India Film Project (IFP), producing a short film within a strict 50-hour window.
Conservation Roots
Completed Herpetology training and received a Letter of Appreciation from Sakkarbaug Zoo for contributing visual data.
Media Spotlight
Featured in The Times of India for the film "A Day in Junagadh" and conducted Canon-Sales India sponsored workshops.
Skill Mentorship
Served as the lead Photography & Videography Trainer for the SBI RSETI program in Junagadh.
Fine Art Success
Selected as a featured artist at the 17th Art Exhibition, Surat; work sold successfully on the first day.
Scientific Publication
Published in the prestigious BNHS Hornbill Magazine, documenting rare predatory behavior in Gujarat's wetlands.
